ZSD SADDENED BY INCREASED ROAD ACCIDENTS.

The Zambian School of Driving (ZSD) has expressed sadness by the high numbers of road traffic accidents currently existing on Zambian roads.

Following the two tragic accidents that recently occurred in Northern Province and at great east road UNZA area, ZSD Driver Improvement Program Director, Hope Kumalo said it is deeply distressing and unacceptable to lose so many lives in a road traffic accidents that could have been avoided.

Ms. Kumalo in a statement availed to One Love News urged the UPND government to address the issue of road traffic accidents seriously by tackling its root cause and not by paying lip service to the problem when high incidences of accidents happen.

She added that as driver educators, they remain convinced that the root cause of the high numbers of road traffic accidents on Zambian roads is the lack of proper dissemination of relevant safety information to drivers through provision of driver education programs such as defensive driving training and hazard awareness trainings.

“As such, in order to reduce the high numbers of road traffic accidents occurring on our roads, we urge government to immediately re-introduce defensive driving training for PSV drivers,” she said.
