CHISEBE CALLS FOR FINALISING OF ELECTRAL LAWS

Governance Expert Noel Chisebe has called on parliamentarians to ensure that all bills enacted regarding the electoral process are finalised.
Speaking in an interview with One Love radio, Dr. Chisebe has stated that some of the bills are situational as the country has a new electoral process and for it to work well, they are other by laws that need to be assented to.
“We are coming from very serious bills as the delimitation and the free education policy, and what we need to understand is that for the electoral process to work properly, there are some by laws that will not to be enacted hence I want to believe the enacting of the various bills in this short period of time is situational and not intentional,” he stated.
Dr. Chisebe advised that other bills that are not an emergency but of national interest can still be looked into by the next parliament that will be formed.
“Government knows the bills that need to be assented to immediately and those are the ones that should be finalised before Friday. The others ones that are of human interest can be handled later by the next government that will be ushered in as it is not the end of the world,” he said.
