Purely Zambian Import and Export has emphasized the crucial role of good packaging in promoting the export of local products.
In an interview with One Love Radio, Purely Zambian Import and Export Chief Executive Officer Rev. Chongo Phiri stressed the need for local manufacturers to use quality materials when packaging their products to meet international standards.
Her remarks come as Purely Zambian Import and Export partners with international organizations to promote local products, such as organic goods like ifishimu, tamarind and Mabuyu, as well as detergents and other products.
Rev. Chongo who is also former Human Rights Commissioner and a member of She Trades, a women’s organization providing capacity building to women entrepreneurs, encouraged local manufacturers to collaborate on branding their products for the global market in order to boost Zambia’s export sector.
“Giving priority to quality packaging and collective branding efforts, Zambian manufacturers can increase their competitiveness in the global market and capitalize on emerging opportunities,” she said.
