The Food Reserve Agency (FRA) has assured the public that it will continue supplying maize to drought affected areas of the country through implementing strategic relief programmes.
In a statement obtained by One Love Radio, Agency Executive Director Mwansa Chamatete said (FRA) will continue implementing the Community Sales Programme in drought affected areas in order to make maize available to the vulnerable communities and ensure sustained domestic and national food security
He noted that in order to sustain the programme for a long timeframe, only one fifty kilogram bag of maize is being sold per household per month at a price of K330.00.
Mr. Chamatet added that there will be no unnecessary movement of maize from one beneficiary district or community in order to prevent negative vices such as fraud and theft.
