President Hakainde Hichilema has reaffirmed government’s commitment to mitigating the impact of the drought on the energy sector.
Speaking During a press briefing at State House, President Hichilema stated that government is working through a dedicated energy committee to implement specific measures in ensuring un-interrupted power supply, particularly in hospitals.
Further the President encouraged citizens to invest in the energy sector, surpassing the country’s energy demands and increasing generation capacity.
Mr. Hichilema added that government will ensure lifeline power supply for small businesses that are negatively impacted by energy insecurity caused by the drought.
