Lusaka City Council (LCC) has constructed eight police posts across various constituencies in a bid to enhance security in the city, utilizing the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) in the period of 2022 to 2024.
Council Public Relations Manager Chola Mwamba said three police posts have been constructed in Kanyama Constituency namely: Makeni Bonaventure,Shalom and Leonard Cheelo while in Kabwata Constituency two police posts have been constructed, namely: Lackson Mapushi and Katungu.
Ms. Mwamba added while speaking to One Love Radio news that Matero Constituency benefited with one police post namely: Chunga police post, Mandevu Constituency also with one police post namely: Chaisa police post and Munali Constituency with one namely: Kamanga police post, in the said period.
“A total of K5,515,468.48 was spent on constructing these eight police posts,” Ms. Mwamba mentioned.
“The construction of these police posts is part of the Council’s broader effort to enhance community safety and security, with some more police posts currently under construction in the city,” she added.
Ms. Mwamba emphasized that the Local Authority is commitment to ensuring that meaningful development in achieved through the use of CDF.
