OVER 2 MILLION PUPILS RETURN TO SCHOOL IN ZAMBIA.

Government has revealed that more than 2.3 million pupils have returned to school following the
implementation of the Education for All policy.
Speaking in an Exclusive interview with One Love Radio News, Ministry of Education Spokesperson Kunda
Mando said the policy introduced in January 2022 under the Free Education Program has eliminated the financial barriers to education by abolishing tuition, PTA and examination fees for all public primary and secondary schools.
She said the policy has demonstrated that the quality of education has not been
compromised, citing improvements in both junior and senior secondary school examination
results.

Meanwhile, Ms. Mando, said more than 4.6 million children in 8,193 schools across 106 districts have benefited from the government’s School Feeding Program.
She explained that the program has significantly improved school attendance, contributing to the overall advancement of quality education in the country.

The school feeding program has enhanced and improved on school attendance, we have less absenteeism, we have reduced drop outs”, she said.
