WORKS ON GARDEN’S CHIKAMONEKA ROAD COMMENCE

Ngwerere Ward 22 Councilor Adrian Banda says that groundworks on the construction of the over 5 Kilometer stretch of the Chikamoneka road between Manchinchi Road and the Garden Swear Ponds in Lusaka have begun.

In an interview, Mr. Banda said a local contractor, Oriental Quarries, have been awarded the contract to commence works on the road to Bituminous standards.

“That road passing through Katima Mulilo Road, at the ‘T’ junction from Manchinchi Road up to the Sewer Ponds will be worked on and a local Contractor is being worked on by a local contractor, Oriental Quarries to Bituminous standards, who are currently mobilizing on site. The construction of 2 Kilometers begins today and I would urge the public to comply with the contractor,” he said.

The road, which has been a source of concern by local residents and marketers, has been in a deplorable state with major pot holes especially in the rainy season, affecting the movement of motor vehicles and pedestrians.

And Mr. Banda appealed to the residents in his Ward to be corporative as the contractor has already started working on site.
