Government has described Zambian Gospel Artists as people who have power to influence the Character of society and the Nation at large.
Speaking at the 3rd edition of the Olive Award’s Zambia in Lusaka, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Youth, Sport and Arts, Fumba Chama said Artists are creators of wealth hence the need for them to position themselves as economic actors.
“I should also remind everyone here today that Gospel artist, through their divine gifts, play a pivotal role in our society,” he said.
Mr. Chama further recognized the efforts of the organizers of the Olive Award’s, stating that such actions are vital for the growth of the music industry in Zambia.
He also said the Ministry appreciates the good initiative of awarding the gospel musicians and is over joyed to witness the concerted efforts by Olive awards Zambia organizers in nurturing the growth of the industry.
Mr. Chama also said such an event resonates well with the nations developmental agenda.
The PS further called on all Stakeholders to take keen interest is such events and support the initiative.
The Olive Awards Zambia was attended by Luena Member Parliament MP Mr. Mubita Anakoka and several artists, such as Ephraim, Abel Chungu, and the Peace Preachers among many.
